Summer Detox Sequence
The following 7 yoga poses will help your digestion, boost strength and flexibility, and will leave you feeling lighter. Take them one at a time or practise the entire sequence as a flow.
1 Parsva Trikonasana
From a standing position, step back your right foot, feet 3 feet apart from each other, turn to the right, place the left hand next to the right foot, shift your gaze up.
Breath x 5 times and repeat for the left side
2 Parsva Konasana
From a standing position, step back your right foot, feet 5 feet apart from each other, turn to the right, bind the left arm around the right leg and grasp the right hand, shift your gaze up.
Breath x 5 times and repeat for the left side
3 Parivrtta Utkatasana
Revolved chair pose
Breath x 5 times on each side
4 Ardha Matsyendrasana
Jump to a comfortable seated position
Bend the left leg and cross over with the right foot. Twist to the right and grasp the right foot with the left hand, or simply open the chest. Gaze to the right.
Breath x 5 times and repeat for the left side
5 Bharadvajasana
Jump through to a seated position, Dandasana, exhale, place the left leg on the floor outside the left hip, place the right foot in half-lotus position, twist to the right, the left hand twisted backwards underneath the right knee. Gaze at the right side.
Breath x 5 times and repeat for the left side
6 Deep twist
Lying down, cross the right leg over the left, eagle shape, twist to the left, while gazing the right hand
Breath x 5 times and repeat for the left side
7 Deep Twist
From a knee position, place both hands in front of you, pass the right arm through the needle (left side) and try to reach as far as possible with the right hand. Twist the torso and try to touch the floor with the left hand.
Breath x 5 times and repeat for the left side
